It started to rain when we got there but we stood in line to get tickets then waited the rain out in the gift shop (very stupid with a 2 year old). Soon we were able to get to our seats. Mason got his face painted for the first time and we all enjoyed ourselves :) Here are a few snapshots of the night...

4 months!

Well it's happened again....time is flying. Brady is already 4 months old! We went for his well check yesterday. His stats are 13.5lbs (20th percentile)...kinda low but the doc didn't seem to worried (He is getting ready to start cereal so he should beef up some) and 25.75 inches (80th percentile). So basically he's tall and skinny like his mama! :)

He was diagnosed with Torticollis. Which is the tilting of his head due to a shortened neck muscle. It's 100% correctable so we'll be doing some PT in the coming weeks to stretch out that muscle.

A few things going on at 4 months:

Smiles ALL the time!
Sleeps on his stomach
Rolls front to back consistently
Takes a bottle with no problem (which is good since I'm back at school now)
Teething! The drool...oh the drool!!
Sleeps from about 8pm-6pm :)
HATES to ride in the car (sorry kid you picked the wrong mama)

3 months!

3 months!! We spent his 3 month "birthday" on vacation at Edisto Beach. Guestimated his stats to be about 12.5lbs and about 25in long. He's finally getting out of the "newborn" stage....YAY! Here are a few things going on in month 3....

- He smiles all the time....he's so happy :)
- He has found his feet....he likes to grab his toes
- He just started to roll over (front to back) which is good because he would much rather sleep on his stomach
- He has started sitting up in the bumbo
- He's sleeping ok.....takes 30-45min cat naps throughout the day instead of 3 long naps; sleeps from about 10-4 eats then sleeps from 4:30-7ish

Mason's First Surfing Lesson

We went to the beach today and Mason got his first "surfing" lesson from daddy! Still has another year or so before he's big enough for his own board.

2 months already! Big boy got an A+ for his checkup. He's up to 11 lbs 12oz and is 23.5 in long. He had to get 3 shots which of course he did NOT like. Here are a few facts about Brady @ 2 months

Eats every 2-3hrs
Sleeps 7-8hrs at night
Starting to smile
Holds his head up better every day
Likes to lay on his back and kick, but not a fan of tummy time
Thinks the monkeys on the wall next to his changing table are hilarious

He's good to go for another 2 months :)

4th of July

Andy had to work EMS so it was just me and the boys. We spend the morning playing in the yard. I made Mason his own waterpark and he had a great time playing.

After nap, we went to Grandmamas and Poppas for hamburgers with them and Nana. After dinners we did a little photo shoot headed out to Riverfront Park to watch fireworks. Mason loved them but about 9:30 pooped out and was ready to "go home".

Brady's first time in the pool! When you are born in the south in the summer....you are going to go in the pool/ocean. It's just second nature :) Brady enjoyed his first swim :) He didn't cry and all and seemed very content to just hang out in the water. Of course after about 15 minutes he started to get cold so he got out, but YAY for liking the water!

It's summertime in the south and it's HOT. You can't expect someone who lives at the beach to keep their newborn from the beach or pool. Especially someone like me!

Father's Day

Father's Day 2011 was a great day.

We went to church....Brady did GREAT in the nursery. He was the littlest dude there :) Then we came home and cooked dinner for both Grandads. BBQ sandwiches and fixin's. We topped off the day with naps for everyone (mom, dad, Mason and Brady) all at the same time!!!!!!

Wow I can't believe it's already been a month. Of course the first 2 weeks of his life is a blur b/c I was in bed. Based on my home calculations Brady is about 10 lbs and 22in long. He is bigger than Mason at 1 month (9.13 and 21.75in)!!

A few things going on in the life of Brady....
- hates tummy time (shock)
- sleeps 3-5hrs at night!
- LOVES to be held....although he is starting to mellow out some and just chill
- Still learning to use the bathroom....he grunts and pushes for like 30 minutes at a time before getting anything to come out. Of course this ticks him off so he's fussy during that time too. Apparently this is normal :/

A few "firsts" this month
- first bath in his tub and he LOVED it
- first trip to the park

Memorial Day we packed everyone up along with a picnic lunch and headed to Wannamaker County Park. Can't beat $1 admission to an awesome playground, sprinkler, walking trails and big open fields. We had a great first family outing!

Spinal Headache.....

Spinal Headache....otherwise known as the headache from hell.....

The epidural with Mason was perfect, no issues. With Brady, not so much. The doctor was young. As soon as he did it he went "umm you'll probably have a headache tomorrow". His explaination...the ligaments in my back are really soft. They do the epidural by feel and they usually can feel with they get through the ligament into the epidural space. If they go to far, they puncture the spinal column and it leaks spinal fluid causing a headache. It's a 1 in 100 chance of this happening. Well because my ligament was soft, he couldn't feel when he got through it and went to far.

I woke up the next morning in the hospital with a headache. They gave me Motrin, Perkaset and had me drink 4 Mt. Dews (caffeine to help constrict the blood vessels). That worked so I said "I'm fine send me home". Little did I know......

Friday morning I woke up with the worst headache I've ever had. A pounding, pulsating migraine headache. I couldn't get out of bed. Cure? Lay flat until it heals. REALLY??? You do know I have a 2 yr old and a newborn right? Thank God for my mom and mother n law. I would not have survived without their help. They pretty much came over every day and either took Mason home with them or entertained him here so that I could lay in bed. I was alternating Loratab and perscription Motrin every 4hrs on top of drinking 6 Mt. Dew's a day. Mt. Dews = caffeine = no sleep for the newborn. But at that point I didn't care b/c I HAD to get rid of the headache.

One week later and I was still in bed with an excrutiating headache. Poor Brady hadn't had a bath since birth.....oh and me either. I called my doc and she sent me to the hospital. They said I could have a blood patch. Doc said he thought I was almost over the headache though so he would wait. Blood patch = another epidural except instead of nubbing medicine they insert 20cc's of my blood into the space so that it clots and closes the hole, stopping the leak and relieving the headache. Of course the risk is that they could again go to far and cause another hole, leading to a longer headache. I opted to wait.

I waited the weekend and went back Monday for the blood patch. I just couldn't stand it anymore...and I have a high tolerance for pain. It took a total of 45 min but I was in the ER for 5 hours.

Tuesday the headache was almost gone when I sat up!! However, it was back with a vengence when I layed down....FAIL I thought! But Wednesday was even better and by Friday I was back to 100% 16 days after I gave birth!

I will think long and hard about an epidural if there is a third...

Brady's 2 week check-up was awesome! He got an A+. No jaundice at all and he gained 1lb from his 1 day check up. He's up to 8lb 4oz!! He also grew....a lot to 21in. Doc said not to go to much on that b/c different nurses/docs stretch babies out differently so the height might not be 100% accurate.

Feeding is going wonderfully. He has had no problems latching or nursing. He also switches from bottle to boob perfectly. He's a snacker though. He likes to eat for 3-4min, go to sleep for 5-10min, eat for another 5 min, got to sleep again. Doesn't make for a fun midnight feeding :).

Sleeping....well now that he's not hyped up on caffeine, he sleeps pretty good. Definitly has his days and nights mixed up, but all babies do. We are getting 2 good 3-4hr stretches at night. He likes to be swaddled...Mason didn't so I wasn't swaddling Brady. I bought one of those swaddle me things and the first night we used it we got 5 hrs!!

Mason is doing well with Brady. He likes to get right in his face...which ticks Brady off but he's VERY protective. If Brady cries, Mason goes running. He's regressed alittle...wanting to be held all the time, crawling around, sucking on a paci (which he NEVER did)...but overall he's doing great. I'm trying really hard to give him mommy and Mason time every day.

After months of waiting and weeks of being dilated to active labor sizes

He has decided to join the world!!

Birth story (another amazing one):

Went to the doctor for my weekly appointment Wednesday at 1145pm. Doctor said I was 7cm dilated and he was at station 0. I was having a few still irregular contractions but nothing regular or horrifically painful. She decided she would break my water and that would get things moving. So again, I hopped in the car, drove myself over to the hospital, grabbed all my bags and walked into the admitting office. I told the lady I was 7cm and going to labor and delivery. 30 MINUTES LATER I finished checking in (she was SOO slow!) and walked up to labor and delivery.

Even though the contractions weren't painful I knew that when she broke my water things would go fast so I asked for the epi first. Got the epi about 2:45pm. He screwed up and went to far and warned me that I'd probably have a headache the next day. 3:15pm my doctor broke my water. 3:50pm I started pushing. 4:13pm he was born! Yep that fast!!!!

Scored a 9 on the apgar scale. He was 7lb 13oz 19.5in long. He has LONG fingers and HUGE feet.

Mason was soo cute with him! He gave him lots of kisses and was kinda amazed by the whole thing. When he got ready to leave he asked "Mama all done now?" LOL

Brady and I were doing great in the hospital so they released us 24hrs later. Of course as soon as I get home the spinal headache started. The horrible HORRIBLE headache. It is better when I lay down versus sitting or standing. Someone please tell me how to care for a newborn and 2 1/2 year old lying in bed?! Yeah....

Supposedly these things last anywhere from 1 week to months. Wednesday is a week....Wednesday afternoon I will be calling the doctor if I still have it. Lora tab and Motrin along with Mt. Dew (caffeine) just aren't cutting it.

Easter 2011

We had a great Easter weekend! Started with dying eggs and a successful, quick photo shoot in the front yard.

Then we went to an Egg Drop (they scatter 20,000 eggs on the field then drop 10,000 eggs from a helicopter). Mason LOVED the drop this year.

Easter morning we discovered what the Easter Bunny brought. Mason cared about nothing but the "CHOCOLATE BUNNY!!".

After church we went to Granny and Granddaddy's for dinner and an egg hunt.

Then we went to Grandmama and Poppa's for more food/candy and egg hunts!

Still Preggo

We are up to 38 weeks now! I've been having contractions on and off but nothing regular. Mom drove (like a wild woman) down the cobblestone road last week in hopes that we shake the little man out. It worked for Mason so we thought we'd give it a shot.

3 days later Mason was born......here's to hoping Brady comes in 3 days!

Dialation that lasts for weeks!

I always thought active labor was anything after 4cm. Apparently not. At 35.5 weeks I was dialated 3.5cm, but Brady wasn't in the birth canal yet. At 36.5 weeks I was 4.5cm dialated but he was still free floating.

I woke up about 2am with contractions. They were anywhere from 10-30 minutes apart and continued most of the morning. I felt this was it, so I picked up the house some, got a shower and was ready to go. As I left to go to the doctor this morning I was very slow to leave. The bags were packed, carseat in car, presents (for Mason and Brady) were wrapped....but I was sad to leave the house. Sad, scared and anxious at the same time. Sad to think it was the last time I would be a mom to 1. That our perfect little family of 3 was changing. Scared thinking...can I handle 2? And then of course anxious to see Brady. What he will be like, how Mason will be with him and begin the adventures our family of 4 will have.

I get to the doctor and at 37.5 weeks, I am 5cm dialated but Brady STILL isn't in the birth canal. So she sends me home!! Now here I sit on the couch dumbfounded. 5cm was went they sent me to the hospital with Mason and I wasn't even feeling any contractions. Doc says it could be anywhere from 1hr to 10hrs. Wow really? Thanks for the heads up doc!

Pregnancy #2

Everyone says #1 gets way more stuff/attention than #2. I was/am hoping that's not the case with Brady....but then I realize I haven't posted hardly anything about this pregnancy. Partly b/c I don't have time to think between school, soccer and a 2year old. So here is a giant rundown of pregnancy #2..

Found out we were preggo in August.
First 14 weeks were AWFUL! I was sick as a dog. Not physically just very VERY nauseated all the time.
No real cravings except mexican at the beginning
During the 2nd trimester I had severe sciatica for about 4 weeks. Brady was laying sideways on my sciatic nerve and I could barely move. Of course 2 days before the PT appointment I had schedule, he moved :)
So far 3rd trimester I've had heartburn out the ying yang. So much that Mason feeds me my medicine (TUMS) all day long. LOL

My weight gain has been normal (so far about 24lbs) and I tested negative for diabetes too.

Went for my check up last week (35 weeks) and she said I was 3.5cm dilated. To her it seemed like no big deal. She said I could stay like this for weeks. For me....kinda freaked out since 37 weeks in considered full term. Not to mention I'm not on leave yet and don't have the extra time to go on leave now. I am on weekly appts from now on so I'll go back this coming Friday. I'm hoping he decides to stay put until April 14th, when I start my maternity leave from school/soccer.

Mason is SOO excited about "baby Brady". He talks to him, shows him things and tells him to come out. Hopefully this excitment will continue after he's born

The Mom Car

I swore up and down I would NEVER own a minivan. Not that I don't like them....they just have 7 passenger SUVs that are less "mommyish". Like the Honda Pilot which happens to be my dream car at the moment. Well, times are tough and we needed another car that would fit 2 kids and well this was a good deal.

So without further adu....here it is....my new mommy car equipped with mood lights, a TV, and a VCR :) :)

First Day of Preschool!

Ok now I know time has gone too fast! Mason has started preschool!! We have been overly blessed in having both grandmothers keep him instead of having to put him in daycare. I wanted to get him started in some kind of preschool so he'd learn that life doesn't revolve around him, since his world will be turned upside down come May. After hearing lots of good things about Deer Park Baptist's Child Day Out, we chose that! He goes Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 9am-12:30pm.

Day 1....we talked it up big time. We washed his bookbag, made a folder for his crafts, he helped me pack. He was excited! He woke up the next morning and ran to get his bookbag, only to be told it was cancelled b/c of the ice.

Day 2 (really Day 1)....Nancy (MIL) took him. Started off great, until she left. He cried. I called to check on him and they said he cried on and off all day. My mom picked him up and he was hysterically crying. I asked him how he liked school. His answer "mama dada waaaaa". LOL That's what he did all day....cry mama, dada, cry. At least he was honest!

Day 3....I took him to school since we were off for a furlough day. I got to meet his teachers and all. They are great! As soon as we walked into the room he grabbed my leg and started crying. We left....although that was hard. When we came back to pick him up he was pefect! She said he cried for a bit then stopped and he was fine the rest of the day!

YAY for my baby growing up.....but boo for my baby growing up! :)

Christmas 2010

We are so blessed to have both sides of the family here in Charleston. This is great for Mason and them b/c everyone can spend time on Christmas.

Putting out cookies for Santa

Christmas morning we woke up to find what Santa had brought. Mason must have been really good! He got a swing set, train set, talking grill, some books, puzzles, and more!
After nap we traveled around. We went to my parents (Grandmama and Poppa) to eat with Nana, Uncle Buddy and Aunt Debbie, Uncle Allen and Aunt Ora Lee. After dinner we opened presents. Mason got a work bench, some trucks, a few outfits and a t-ball set!
Then we headed to Andy's parents (Granny and Granddaddy) to spend time with them and Aunt Jennifer and Uncle Alan. We opened presents and took pictures by the Christmas tree. Mason got lots of train stuff, an airport, a big wheel bike. I think it's safe to say he made out like a champ!

Now to figure out where to put all this stuff :) I love the holidays! Spending time with family is priceless.

Happy 2nd Birthday!

Yes that's what the post says.....SECOND birthday. I always wished life would go fast when I was in high school....I thought life went fast when I was in college, but now that I have a child....I have one request for life....PLEASE slow down!! I seriously feel like I blinked and had a 2 year old.

He is the light of all our lives. He makes us laugh hourly. He's very smart and talks up a storm (wonder where he gets that? ;) ). He is SUCH a happy kid. He is however beginning to show signs of terrible two tantrums, but thankfully they only last a few mins.

Just a few things to note about the boy.....

- Knows some of his colors; Can count to 5 consistently, sometimes 10; Knows some of his letters

- Loves trains; alligators, Veggietales, trucks, coloring, playdoh, and being outside.

- Loves to mock us whether it's cleaning, dishes, laundry, screwing screwdrivers...he wants to do it too.

- Is very precise in what he does....when it's time to clean up, things have to be EXACTLY correct. The lid of the toy box MUST close all the way. The trucks MUST all be standing up (not on their side), if they aren't he has a fit until he either figures it out, or we help him out.

-Is very independent (or at least wants to be)

- We go to the doctor Monday, but he's about 34lbs and 36" tall. He wears 2T pants, 2T-3T shirts, and a whopping size 9 shoe!

Saturday was his party. It turned out to be a lot of fun! It was a Thomas the Train themed of course :) Here are a few pics of the event. He racked up on the presents...and Christmas is still 2 weeks away!!

We had a pretty relaxing Thanksgiving. I am thankful for so many things in my life. Family, jobs, health, etc. So much to list. I have a very very blessed life! Usually we eat with both sets of parents, but this year my parents were in TX visiting my uncle this year (first Thanksgiving in my life w/o them :(). We hung around the house most of the day...with temps close to 80 it didn't really feel like fall. We had a photo shoot in the morning...(made everyone where long sleeves b/c it's SUPPOSED to be fall HAHA) I was impressed with the results :)

Then, Mason and I made a turkey for the centerpiece.

After nap went and ate with Andy's parents and sister. We had some yummy food! Mason really enjoyed the pie and whipped cream.....haha

That night I went to Toys r Us. It was the most unbelieveable thing. I got in line at 9pm (doors opened at 10pm). The line wrapped around almost the whole shopping center. Got in the door at 10:40pm....got what I wanted (no one was getting swing sets) and got in line. Stood in line for 1.5hrs just to check out!!!!! Got home about 1:30am. HAHA Im sure I'll end up having to do that again sometime but I would prefer not to :)

Mason was an indian this year. We decided on an indian because he really liked the indian we saw in Cherokee, NC this summer. I blew up a picture and put it in his playroom and he pointed and "talked" about it all the time. SO here is our little indian :)

Saturday afternoon we went to a little Halloween party my aunt had at her work. Mason's little cousin Lily was a cowgirl.....haha get it? Cowgirl and Indian?

Sunday was the BIG night! We walked around with both sets of grandparents, Mason's BFF (and next door neighbor) and his parents. They had a good time.

Last weekend we went up to the mountains for my friend Delaine's wedding and to pick apples. The wedding was great! Mason had a blast dancing :)

The apple picking was perfect! The weather was cool and crisp. My parents and best friend Kim, her husband and daughter joined us. We did have to walk quite a bit to find the "good ones" but still had a great time. Mason ate 3 whole apples while we picked. We also picked out a pumpkin and played on the playground they have. I love this place and recommend it to anyone interested in picking apples at a kid-friendly place! This has become an annual trip for us and we had a great time as usual. :)

Box Fort and Fire Museum

Last night I made Mason his first box fort. Every kid needs a box fort! I'm sure it's the first of many. I worked for about 1 1/2 hours on this one. Cutting a door, windows and making a roof. Mason and I even colored it. HEHEHE

We took Mason to the Fire Truck museum Saturday morning. Mason did NOT like it. Well he liked it at the beginning...especially the slide, but there was a simulatore that had a smoke alarm that kept going off and he was TERRIFIED. Once that alarm went off the first time (the simulator lasted 8 min) he was DONE! I had to hold him the rest of the time. Andy and I thought it was neat....hopefully Mason will when he's older :)

Summertime Fun

Well it's over.....Summer went by too fast but probably because we were SOO busy! We were on the go at least 4-5 days a week. We went to the park, water park, beach, pool, library, museum, mall, aquarium, mountains, and had tons of play dates!

School started today for teachers and the kids on the 18th. I am excited to still be able to have Fridays off, but sad that I won't be able to be home every day. It's impossible to put everything that happened this summer on one post, so here are a few shots from our busy, exciting summer....

Big Boy Bed!

I'm not sure when it happened but my baby is becoming a big boy. Last week he decided to become a monkey and climb out of his crib. He was doing it perfectly and not falling until he woke up Thursday night and fell. It knocked the breath out of him and I broke all records getting into his room. The crib came down the next day and Mason boy was on the mattress on the floor. I put a want add up on Craigslist for a firetruck toddler bed. I had pretty much decided just to get a plain wood one when lo and behold someone responded with a wooden firetruck toddler bed. SOLD!!! He loves it and it matches his room perfectly! Next step.....get him to go to sleep without being rocked :)

18 months

18 months...really? Seems like I was just posting his 1 year old post. I used to laugh at people who said kids grow up to fast. Now I tear up when I think how fast he's growing. This is SUCH a fun age! Well minus the temper tantrums :) Per the doctor, he's perfect! 29 lbs (90 percentile) and 34.75 in (off the chart!). Here are just a few things he's into at 18 months....

- LOVES the outside; wakes up and points to the window then cries when we have to go in to go to bed
- Loves to play peek-a-boo and chase
- LOVES to push his trucks around
- Knows his belly button, hair, ears, nose, teeth, tongue, toes, and fingers
- He is really enjoying the pool. He can jump off the side, kick his feet and blow bubbles! My prediction is I'll have a swimmer by the end of the summer!
- Some words he says: Mom, Mama, Ma, Dad, Dada, Pop, Pop-Pop, More, Ball, Bug, Bubbles, Nana, Hot, Hat, Uh-oh
- Knows the animals sounds for dog, cat, elephant, duck, cow, pig

In Memory of Great-Grandma

Mason's Great Grandma (my grandmother) passed away May 7, 2010. She would have been 95 July 31st. Mason was her pride and joy. She loved everything about him and though the world of him. She said all the time "He's soo smart, April!" She once said she'd never seen anything like him before. I said, we weren't as cute or smart? She said NO! HAHA. Mason adored her. We all will miss her dearly.

Last week I got an email pleading for people to come pick strawberries. Apparently no one is going to the strawberry farms and all the strawberries are in danger of going bad. So Mom and Nana took Mason boy to pick strawberries on Wednesday. He had a blast standing on the mounds and rolling around in the dirt. He was SOO dirty. He did enjoy the strawberries and now we have a lot frozen strawberries! :)

Mason got to enjoy his first popsicle this weekend. He was all about it.....until it started dripping on him. Then he was kinda annoyed, so I had to wrap the bottom in a papertowel. That seemed to suffice. Funny because he LOVES to get dirty.

Spring Break Fun!

Oh how I love Spring Break! A whole week with my Mason man! We definitly took advantage of the BEAUTIFUL 80+ degree weather all week. We had so much fun playing!

The Saturday before Easter, we went to a cookout at Charlestowne Landing w/ some of my Phi Mu sisters. We had a great time catching up! The state has done an awesome job with the renovations!

Monday, we went downtown to the Battery to play. Mason loved climbing on the cannons, running around in the grass and just exploring.

Tuesday we went to the beach with my college roomie, Angela. It was cold and windy so we didn't stay long. After his nap Mason decided to play with the water hose. Who knew THAT would be soo much fun!

Wednesday we went to the park with my friend from college Jaime and her daughter, Malia. It was nice to catch up and for the kids to finally meet! Of course at this age it's more parallel play vs. playing with each other. After the park, we walked over to the giant spray sprinkler thing. Malia LOVED it.....Mason not so much, so he found the mud :)

Thursday and Friday I had soccer practice, so Mason tagged along. He had fun and the girls loved him.

Saturday, I went to the hair dresser so Mason played at home. Then we went to the outlet mall to look around. Typical Saturday :)

Sunday we ventured out again to Palmetto Island County Park for PetFest! There were 100s of dogs which Mason LOVED! After we walked around, we played at the playground some, then headed home .

Whew! What a BUSY week! We had a blast though. Can't wait 'til summer! Only 8 weeks!!!

Easter

Easter weekend started on Thursday for Mason. Him and Grandma dyed eggs at her house. Then Friday, he dyed eggs again with me, Grandmama and Nana. He was soo good dying the eggs! He was very interested and worked hard!

Saturday we went to the Charleston Egg Drop at the church across from my school. Basically they have about 20,000 eggs on the ground and drop another 10,000 from a helicopter. Mason was NOT impressed......actually he was TERRIFIED! So terrified that even after the helicopter left I couldn't put him down for about 15 minutes. FAIL for the first Easter egg hunt! I did manage to get a few pics..

Sunday we woke up to find the Easter Bunny had visited us! He brought Mason a BIG Tonka truck! Then we got dressed and headed to church. After church we ate dinner at my parents (Grandmama and Poppa). Uncle Brian, Nana and Aunt Ora Lee and Uncle Allen joined us for dinner. We ate, played and had an easter egg hunt.

Carolina Cup

Finally, a whole week of beautiful weather! I think spring is on the horizon which is good because Mason was having a rough time staying inside. Last Saturday we spent the day playing in the yard and going to the park. He had a GREAT time!

1st Hair Cut and Bike Ride!

So first I would like to apologize for not posting very often. Soccer season has started and my time is precious. Very rarely do I get to sit at the computer for more than 3-5 minutes a day.

Mason is growing and growing. He LOVES to explore. He is such a boy! He is very independent at times too which is good. He is into throwing things :( and has decided that he doesn't want to listen.....starting terrible 2s early I think! He makes us laugh all the time! We go next week for his 15 month check up. I can't wait to see how big he is!

A few weeks ago we decided to get his mullet cut. There is a place called "Hair Bears" that exclusively cuts children's hair. So we made an appointment and of course brought the video camera. Mason sat in the chair and got a sucker. He could care less about the hair cut....just the sucker! He did awesome!

Last weekend we enjoyed the beautiful weather. We decided to attached the bike seat (with help from Poppa) so we could go out for a ride! Mason LOVED the bike ride. It's going to be a fun spring!

It snowed in Charleston!!! It was the first time in 10 years we have had snow that stuck to the ground! I think Andy and I were way too excited! After it was all said and done we got about 3 1/2 - 4 inches. Mason wasn't too excited at first, but we also took him out as soon as he woke up. After breakfast he seemed to enjoy it more. We had tickets to go to Hanahan's Snow Bowl so we bundled up and headed over there. Yes, we paid money to go play in the snow, and then it snowed for real. Remember though, no snow in 10 years so I thought if I wanted Mason to see it, I was going to have to pay for it. Oh well. We had a blast either way! Here are some pics and video!

1st Dentist Appointment

Today Mason went to the dentist for the first time. They now recommend children to start going to the dentist at 12 months and then go back every six months just like adults. So with a mouth full of teeth and 3 on the way, we headed to a pediatric dentist recommended to us by our pediatrician. The office was awesome! Lots of giant animals, toys in the waiting room and GIANT murals on the walls in the cleaning area. Mason wasn't as impressed as I was :)

Today Mason had his first official play date! One of my sorority sisters, Leilani, has a little boy, Henry, that is 3 months older than Mason. When Henry first arrived Mason was sooo excited! He just kept following Henry around and squealing. We took the boys down to the Children's Museum and they had a BLAST!

1st of all.....
Mason got RSV over Christmas break. RSV is an upper respiratory virus. I read that 90% of kids under 2 catch it once. He had a runny nose, coughing, shortness of breath. It was ROUGH to say the least. He just laid around and didn't really sleep at night. I felt so bad for him :( We were supposed to go up to the mountains with our friends Martin and Colleen and their little boy Landon for New Years BUT Landon is only 2 months and so that was a big no no. RSV is VERY dangerous for babies under 3 months. Mason wouldn't have felt up to it even if we could go.
So pitiful :(

He's finally better! He is back to his VERY active self. He lost his appetite when he was sick but it's back with FULL force! He will go to the kitchen and bring us a fork, spoon or bib (his way of saying he's hungry) like every 2 hours! Here are a few things we've been doing!

1st Haircut! Well really just a trim. I just cut about 1/2in from the front so it would be out of his eyes. He was NOT a fan of the haircut. I tried to save it, but it is such a little amount you can't even see it in the baggie.

He's 13 months! Well tomorrow. He gets smarter everyday! Here is what he's into now..
- The mocking stage. You only have to show him once and he does whatever you do. It's too funny!
- He's starting to play with his toys correctly. Specifically trucks. He'll push them aroudn on he knees and make brrm brrm sounds or fire truck sounds.
- He LOVES to talk on the phone. He has 2 cell phones, a cordless phone and a toy phone. He brings it to you and wants you to call people. He also gets SOO excited when the phone rings.
- He LOVES to play chase. He takes off and wants you to chase him
- Peek-a-boo is fun too! He likes to peek around the couch or wall to see you
- He still loves the outside, but has been really annoyed that we can't go out and play (it's just too cold!)

It's hard to believe this is Mason's 2nd Christmas! Warning...this is long :)

I was worried about the Christmas tree and decorations. Mason is SOO curious I just knew he'd take it apart. He actually did very well! Didn't really mess with it. I did catch him once...

Who knew you could buy babies at Walmart!?

He was not a huge fan of the Santa at the mall. I think this was probably because he was tired of taking pictures. We visited Santa after his 1 year photo shoot.

He did however HIGHLY enjoy a peppermint milkshake from Chick-Fil-A

Tuesday night we went to see the James Island Festival of Lights. The line to get into the park was unreal! I have NEVER see that many people going to the lights. We let Mason get out of the car seat so he could see all the lights. Then we parked to walk around. He checked out the lights up close and road a little kiddie train (I had to to the hand pedal) and thought that was great!

Christmas Eve we went to church and then had everyone over for chili. We had a good time. Mason had his first candy cane. I think it's safe to say he thoroughly enjoyed it.

Christmas Day was long but good. We woke up about 7:30 to see what Santa brought.

After breakfast we went to Aunt Jennifer and Uncle Alan's for Christmas with Andy's family. Mason got lots of cute clothes, a telephone, a wagon and a firetruck ball pit!

Then we moved on to my parent's house for dinner and presents. Hanging out with Uncle Allen and Aunt Ora Lee

Mason started feeling kinda puney. He didn't really get a morning or afternoon nap. The food was awesome. After dinner and letting the food settle it was present time. He got a baby laptop, a truck, a zylaphone, some books, and money for his bank account. He made out like a champ! At home with almost all the presents.

Christmas night he started running a high fever, coughing and having a runny nose. We took him to the doctor's care for babies (Peds Plus) and found out he had RSV (an upper respiratory virus). UGH! So Happy Holidays for us! :/

We do hope that everyone had an awesome holiday though!!

Party Time!

We had Mason's party today and it was a success!! It went really fast too. It was mostly family and a few close friends. We had the usual cake and ice cream along with pizza and cookies. Mason again LOVED the cake. He also got lots of really cool presents! Thanks to everyone who made it a special day for the boy!

We had both sets of grandparents and great-grandparents over for pizza and cake last night. Mason LOVED pizza. He ate almost 2 slices!

Thanksgiving was Mason's last "First" holiday! UNREAL! It was a wonderful day. We went to dinner at my parents for lunch. Uncle Buddy, Aunt Debbie and Nana joined us. We had a little fall photo shoot to get some family shots for our Christmas card. Later we went to Andy's parents for dinner. By the end of the day we were stuffed with yummy food and great times!

I am thankful for many many things...too many to list, but a few important ones are: a wonderful, loving husband; a beautiful, HEALTHY baby boy; and an awesome family!

Children's Museum

Last week, Nancy (Grandma) and I took Mason to the Children's Museum. It's such a cool place. They have like 4 different rooms for imaginative play. Most of the rooms are a little old for him. They did have a baby/toddler room that was just his size and a water room which he loved. He had a great time climbing around and playing in the water.

This week he contracted Hand, Foot and Mouth disease which is apparently a common childhood disease. He had ulcers in his mouth, fever blisters on his face, blisters on his hands, foot and bottom. It was very painful as you can imagine. We are hopefully getting to the end of the virus and he's doing much better.

11 months

Another month has come and gone. At 11 months Mason is:

- Walking EVERYWHERE. He is such a boy! He gets into everything; will work and work until he gets what he wants; takes things apart; plays in the dirt/rocks, etc.

- When he gets something he knows he's not supposed to have he will hide it behind his back and run away......seriously at 11 months this has started!

- He babbles all the time but no official words. To be an official word he must say the word more than once at the correct thing (i.e. say kitty when he sees a kitty or say dada when he sees dada)

He is SUCH a happy baby! He laughs all the time and makes us laugh at him! We are so blessed to have such a healthy and happy baby!

The Coastal Carolina Fair

The fair is here! I LOVE the fair; the food, smells, lights, people; it's great! Andy and I were soo excited to take Mason. Aunt Jennifer joined us for the festivities. When we got there we walked around to check everything out.

I was hoping Mason would get to ride a few rides but you had to be 36" to ride all the kiddie rides and he's only like 30". I was quite disappointed. He did get to ride one ride with me....the carousel.

Then we got some dinner. He had a little bit of chicken tender, fries and I brought some pears from home.

After dinner we walked around to look at the rides. He was soo into everything. He looked from side to side at the rides and people. Every now and then he would scream like the people on the rides. It was funny. Then last but not least we went to see the ANIMALS!!! He fed the goats with daddy and got to pet a big cow. He LOVED the cows! He also played with a baby goat. The goat tried to eat the arm of his jacket so he pulled it's ear. HAHA.

Halloween was exciting! When we chose Mason's costume, we took him to Babies R Us. We held up costume after costume and he just starred. When we held up the kangaroo he started laughing. We held up 3-4 others with no response, then the kangaroo again and he started laughing again! Sooooo....

About 3:00pm we packed up and went over to Nana's. We were meeting Matthew and Lily so Nana could see both great-grands in their costumes.

Camping Trip

We took Mason on his first camping trip last weekend! We went up to Chimney Rock, NC to a campground called Hickory Nut Falls. I camped there a lot growing up so it was cool to take Mason back there. Originally it was supposed to be real nice weather, BUT........it wasn't. Friday night it rained from about 5pm til about 3am. Then of course the ground was really went and muddy. Try keeping a walking/crawling 10 month old off the ground....RIGHT! Saturday it was cold and windy. We went up to Sky Top orchard to pick apples. It was soo cold and windy we didn't stay very long. Saturday night we went into Chimney Rock and ate dinner. Saturday night it was COLD so Mason slept with me. We are NOT good co-sleepers...HAHA! Sunday we packed up and headed out to a pumpkin patch on our way home. Overall we had a good time! I think Mason really enjoyed it! I can't wait till next year :)

10 months and walking!!

Yesterday was Mason's 10 month birthday! TEN MONTHS!! He changes every day. Here are a few things he's doing now:

Loves to be pushed in his "car"
Loves to be outside
Loves water (bath, toliet, puddles, etc.)
Eats like a champ!
WALKING!! He's taking 5-6 steps at a time
Says mama, dada, baba, nana, and makes lots of other noises :)

Last Saturday we went downtown to see the Fire Parade. It was REALLY loud and he wasn't scared a bit! He watched every truck go by. Then mom and I took him for a walk. We walked down to the Farmers Market and ate lunch at Ye Ole Fashion. Oinker ate an entire double decker grilled cheese sandwich and had his first french fry. He wasn't a huge fan. Then Sunday we ate lunch outside because it was BEAUTIFUL weather.

Clemson Game

This weekend we went up to Clemson for Mason's first Clemson football game! Uncle Keith and Aunt Joanna gave us their tickets and parking pass! It was cold and rainy, but we made the best of it! Mason did great! He seemed to enjoy tailgaiting and watched the game and people intently for the first quarter. Then started to get sleepy. He actually fell asleep on me in the stands! I was surprised for 2 reasons....#1 he usually has to be rocked and #2 the guy behind us was SOO loud! He slept for a little over an hour. When it started we covered up with a poncho then eventually had to move underneath the stands.

First Stomach Bug

Mason has gotten his first stomach bug. Monday he had explosive poop. I woke up and smelled him from the doorway. I walked in and he was covered as was his bed. Into the bath we went (at 620am). After he was all cleaned up, I gave him his bottle. Within 2 minutes of finishing the bottle he projectile vomited the ENTIRE 7oz all over me, him, the couch and floor. Back into the bath he went (640am). He didn't eat much Monday but kept the few oz of his bottles that he drank down. Tuesday night....ugh Tuesday night. After he went down at his normal time 745pm I thought we were good to go....until 10pm. He woke up screaming. I walked in and there he was COVERED from head to toe in puke.....so I did what every mom would do.....FREAKING TOOK A PICTURE! Then I thought to myself....April what are you doing you child is MISERABLE! FAIL!!!! Into the bath we went, I gave him some pedialyte and rocked him back to sleep. Good to go until about 430am when he blew out his diaper again. Then at 630am after his bottle....projectile vomit again. After that, he's been doing better. I'm hoping it was just a 24hr thing. UGH I would prefer he not get that again!

Warning....this is a long post!

Well he's been out of my belly as long as he was in my belly! It's really hard to believe he's already 9 months. Life went by fast before him, but now.....seriously like on fast forward or something. Wish there was a slow button!

Thursday mom and I went to this thing called Charleston Repeats. It's like a HUGE garage sale (with pretty good stuff). We got lots of cool things for Mason's Christmas/Birthday but he got a few 9 month presents too!

COOL A TUNNEL!

What he's doing at 9 months:
- Holding his bottle. He sits on the couch, crosses his ankles and drinks.
- Eating people food. He refused stage 3 foods so we just went on to table food. I haven't found a food he doesn't like....this kid LOVES to eat!
- Cruising and crawling like a pro. He can walk while you hold just one hand but will only take a step or two on his own.
- He whispers (which is histerical)
- We are working on high fives, clapping and kissing (aka open mouth slobbers)
- He has figured out that there are things UNDER the couch/table/ect. He'll bend down with his butt in the air to look under stuff.
- Taking baths in the big boy tub.....he outgrew the cute duckie.
- He LOVES Elmo!
- He has started to have a comfort item. It's called a lovie (basically and doggie
head with a blanket body). He LOVES it.

He is officially weaned. I would have liked to continue until his first birthday but my supply ran out. He was exclusivly breastfed for 7 1/2 months then half and half til his 9 month birthday. As much as I am sad/disappointed I couldn't continue, I'm proud of myself that I was able to go as long as I did with only one side. It's nice not to have to pump at work anymore too!

He goes to the doctor next week. No shots this time!! If I had to guess, he's about 22lbs and about 29 in long

Today (Friday) was a Park Day!!! It was GORGEOUS weather so me, mom, nana and grandma took Mason to the new Mt. Pleasant park and to feed the ducks at Quarterman's park. It was a long day but we had a BLAST!!

Labor Day Weekend

We started out Labor Day weekend relaxing on the couch, watching some new Baby Einstein movies......

We did some laundry and he fell in :)

We got his 9 month pictures made which was a freakin mess. We got there on time, but they were running late. Appt at 11am we got in at 1130am. Mason was being his happy self, til he sat down. We had a time getting him to sit still and smile. We got a few cute ones, BUT because it took soo long and took soo long for them to get the "album" ready for us to look at Mason freaked out. He was soo tired and cranky and wouldnt be still. Mom and I were both flustered and couldn't figure out which pictures we wanted. After we got home (at 1pm!) we realize we picked the wrong one! Not that the one we chose was bad, just this one was better. Oh well....he'll get new ones in 3 months.

And to top the weekend off we had a fun cookout with the whole family!

Tonight we took Mason's to his first baseball game! We went to a Sunday game because they start earlier. The first hour Mason sat contently and watch the game and people and noises, then he wanted to play. We walked around and got his picture taken with Charlie and Chelsie the Riverdogs. He wasn't scared of them at all! YAY for a GREAT first baseball game!

Just a quick update....school has started back. I am really lucky this year and I get Fridays off. So Mason goes between grandparents M-Th. Occasionally I take him to Mom's day out at church so he can interact with other kids. He seems to like it there! Other than that, we've just been trying to get back into the routine of school! The Last Day of Summer and 8 Months Old

Last Friday was my last day of summer so we spent it at the beach! Mason had a BLAST! I really enjoyed having the summer with my little man. I got to see every little change and new development he had. I'm really gonna miss that during the school year. At least I'll have a 3-day weekend every week!

Mason was 8 months old on Monday. 8 MONTHS!! I know can you believe it?! Some new developments include:

- 8 teeth.....yep 4 on the bottom and 4 on the top. Boy did those eye teeth cause
some problems too!!

- He has begun to tell the world what he thinks. He babbles and babbles. No real words yet more of like a bababababbabababa or aaaaaaaaa. We are working hard on mamamamamamama :)

- He is crawling like a mad man and has learned to crawl up stairs.

- He's still cruising around ANYTHING that he can pull up on. He well let go for like a second and be able to stand without falling.

- He loves finger foods, especially yogurt drops, puffs and cheese puffs. He's also started eating what we eat like toast, waffles, cinnamon and sugar pretzel bites, vienna sausages...LOL :)

Today me, my mom (Grandmama)and Andy's mom (Grandma) took Mason to the SC Aquarium for the first time. He started off liking the animals. He watched the fish, otters, alligators and penguins. After awhile he seemed to get bored with all the exhibits and started blowing rasberries and everything. It was funny. Unfortunatly my camera battery died, Andy's mom's camera was dead and Mom didnt bring hers. FAIL!! Before they all died I did get a few cute ones....

Last week we took Mason to Lake Hartwell! He is the 3rd generation to enjoy the Holmes' place. My parents visited in their early marriage days, I grew up going there in the summer and now it was Mason's turn!

It was Mom, Dad, Brian, Me, Mason, Andy, Uncle Allen, Aunt Ora Lee, Uncle Keith (aka Uncle Bubba), Aunt Joanna, Doug, Beth, Robyn and Paul. Yep that's a lot of peps!! We swam, drove the boat around, and hung out on the dock. I never understood why people took babysitters on vacation with them.....until now. Luckily I had my family as babysitters :)

We had a great time and Mason did very well on the long 5hr car ride. He did well during the day too.....but nighttime was HELL! I think it was a combo of sleeping in his pack n play, sleeping in the same room as us, and not feeling well.

Thursday night he began to run a fever. We gave him tylenol and put him to bed. Friday his fever kept going up. When it hit 103.5 we took him to the emergency room....HIS FIRST TRIP! Found out he had the beginning of an ear infection. The doctor gave us some meds and we were on our way. It was scary for mommy and daddy! Needless to say his lake swimming ended there.

The Little Gym

Every Tuesday morning this summer we have been going to a place called The Little Gym. It is soo neat! Expensive, but way cool. They have classes for kids as young as 4 months and all the way up to elementary school. It's like baby gymnastics! We do strength exercises, stretches, play with bubbles, balls, bells, sticks, explore on the equipment, and much more! I'd love to continue doing it in the spring....we'll have to see about the finances!

The past 2 weeks Mason has been taking swimming lessons. Not too much teaching, more intro to the water. He splashed a lot, we blew bubbles (well Mason just tried to lick the water), floated on his back, "kicked" on the kickboard and dunked under water (only once each day). He loves the water!

Today we went to my friend Meredith's place for a pool party/cookout. We had a great time swimming and catching up with friends. This is probably the first time in YEARS I won't be watching fireworks, but at least there will be some of TV. Fireworks = dark; Dark = Mason's bedtime......having a baby changes everything :)

First Boat Trip!

Last weekend we took Mason out to Morris Island for his first boat trip. Once he had the lifejacket on, he didn't move a muscle...it was soo funny! He slept on the way out to the beach and on the way back. It was soo hot, but there was a nice breeze on the beach. Mason got a little pink (even though he was in the shade!) but it didn't seem to bother him. First boat trip = SUCCESS!!!

First Father's Day

Andy's first father's day was a great day! He got to sleep in (just like he does every weekend) then when he got up, Mason gave him a card and a present that he picked out all by himself (well I sat 2 watches on the counter and told him to pick the one he wanted to give daddy.....and the one he grabed was the one I bought!)
Later we went to Andy's parents (Grandma and Grandpa's) for a cookout and to swim a little. Aunt Jennifer, My dad and grandma (Poppa and Great-Grandma) came too! We swam and ate...it was good food! After we ate, we hung out, talked, and played and Mason got to meet his Great Aunt Hazel and Great Uncle Coot.

Well what can I say...my Mason boy is advanced! In addition to pulling up in his crib and trying to stand everywhere....he's crawling! He's such a smart boy!! We have started baby gynmastics at a place called The Little Gym. It's really neat! He gets to do developmentally appropriate activities and interact with other babies his age. Last week we played with bubbles, balls, took a step or two on the balance beam and did a forward roll! HEHE :) Oh and he has another toofy! His top right tooth has poked it's sharp little head out....YAY for teeth! :)

Pool Time and 6 Month Check-up!

Bear with me this is a LONG post...we've been busy :)

Last Friday we took Mason to the pool for the first time. He loved it! I decided to dunk him under (Mom said she dunked me at 3 months). So I went 1, 2, 3 and under and up! He came up coughing!!!! I was like "I THOUGHT YOU SAID HE'D HOLD HIS BREATH!" Then a few minutes later mom goes "Oh I think you were supposed to blow in his face first so he would know to hold his breath"....um just a slight important piece of info there! Thats ok.....he still loved it!

Sunday we went to my cousin Lilly's 2nd birthday party. It was Mason's first kid birthday party. There were lots of kids and people....kinda sensory overload but he was good! We swam some more and we left with presents too!!! Aunt Peggy gave us a walkersaucer and a slide! I also bought a sandbox/pool-picnic table combo so he is set on outside toys for awhile!

Monday was his 6 month check-up. He is perfect! 19lb and 27.25in. Height, weight and head size is all in the 75th percentile! Grandmama (my mom) went with me since Andy had to work. He got 3 more shots but did GREAT....only cried when he was actually given the shots. Once I picked him up he was fine. He is moving up to stage 2 foods (combos) and he can start meat in a few weeks. Doc said he can have any food except honey, seafood and peanuts.

6 months

OK first off I would like to say that this has been the FASTEST 6 months of my ENTIRE life! I'm mean seriously time could slow down some (especially now that I'm off for the summer!). I can't believe how much Mason changes every day. He is such a happy baby! I love watching him figure out the world. Although I do get annoyed at times (like today when he refused to nap), I wouldn't change anything.

Some of the things he's doing:
- Eats and likes all stage 1 foods (his stomach doesn't like peaches and oatmeal)
- Starting to use a sippy cup
- Sits up unassisted
- Can go from tummy to sitting up without help (this causes problems when I try to put him down for a nap)
- Scoots on his bottom
- Smiles and pouts
- Giggles (still waiting for the all out stomach laugh)
- Pulls himself up to sit on his knees (crib bumper had to be removed due to this)
- Chews EVERYTHING! :)
- Has 2 bottom teeth and the 2 top should be in any day now!

Sea Turtles!

Today Mason, mom and I went to Folly Beach County Park to watch 2 sea turtles (Little Prichard and Murrell) be released back into the ocean. They had been at the turtle hospital at the aquarium for over a year. It was really neat! Afterwards we played at the beach awhile. Here are a few pictures and video of the event!

First Weekend Away

I survived and so did Mason!! This weekend Andy and I went to Atlanta for my friend Dave's wedding and we left Mason home with Grandmama and Poppa (my mom and dad). I think I did pretty good only talking to mom like 3 times on Saturday and 3 times on Sunday. I got to talk to Mason on the phone a few times too! He was GREAT at Grandmama and Poppa's. He played, went for a walk, went to Belk, watched Sesame Street, and played some more. Here are some pics of his adventure...

It was such a warm weekend that we decided to take Mason out for his first boating trip, but the boat wouldn't start so we decided to hit the beach instead. It was a good thing we didn't go on the boat because boy was it WINDY!! We got to the beach about 4pm (dad says thats the PERFECT time). Unfortunatly it was close to his snack and naptime. We got some playing in though while the dad's (Andy and my dad) fished...take a look!

Memorial Day Weekend

We had a fun Memorial Day weekend. We went to the park, played at home and visited family. It was still to cold to take Mason swimming, BUT we got him a life vest so he's ready for the boat! His cold is getting better, slowly. He still gets stuffy at night. His sleeping patterns have stunk this weekend. I think it's a combo of the cold and teething. UGH! 9 more school days before summer!!

Guess who can sit up by himself (at least for a few minutes or so)! He's been sitting for a week or so, but only for like 2 seconds and not with the best posture. Today he sat for a long time playing. He is no longer a big fan of laying on his back to play. There are only certain times he wants to be on his tummy. Still working on the crawling part. He did get he's knees under him today, but hasn't started moving yet (thank goodness cause Im not ready for that yet!).

On another note, we have a cold :( It hadn't seemed to bother him too much until last night we he woke up 3 times before 6am! He's been sneezing, coughing and has a runny nose. Poor little guy. I hope it doesn't last too long b/c Ive gotten used to sleeping through the night.

We've been doing great on food. He likes everything so far (rice, oatmeal, sweet potatoes and squash). We quit the oatmeal because he was spitting up alot so we wanted to see if it was the oatmeal. Well, the rice cereal is starting to make Mason boy a little constipated. SOOO we switched back to oatmeal and ate some PRUNES :) Oatmeal was a no-go again. He threw up all morning. Guess we'll try barley cereal next. We can't keep doing the rice every day so if barley doesn't work we'll just do rice like 3 times a week. Up next is the food line up is carrots, green beans and sweet peas!

Mother's Day and Mason's Dedication

Today was a BIG day! Mason turned 5 months old, it was my first Mother's Day and it was Mason's church dedication. I got pretty white roses and a card from Mason boy, then we got dressed and went to church. We were actually early!! My baby was soo cute and such a good boy! :) After church the whole crew went to Bessingers for Mother's Day lunch. It was me, Andy, my parents and Brian, Nana, Andy's parents, and Andy's sis Jennifer and bro in law Alan. It was a long day but very nice!

Here are a few new pictures. He did well on the rice cereal...loves it so we started the oatmeal this weekend. His face when he first tasted it was....YUCK but he ate it all. :) We'll do oatmeal for a week then alternate oatmeal in the morning and rice at night for a week or two.

Tonight was Mason's first taste of something other than me! We started with rice cereal. We will do the rice for about a week, then add oatmeal. After a few weeks we will start with veggies and fruit! You have to introduce one at a time for like 4-5 days to make sure he's not allergic or anything. I was soo excited for the cereal. We got in our big boy high chair and all. He loved the cereal! It took him a few minutes to figure out how to eat and swallow but he got the hang of it. We will eat again twice tomorrow. Here are a few pics and video of the event. HE HE HE enjoy :) Yummy! What do you mean it's all gone!?! WAAAA I want more! 4 months old!

Mason turned 4 months old on the 10th. HOLY COW FOR REAL?!?!?! Last Tuesday we went to the doctor for his 4 month check up and shots. Our big boy weighs 16lbs 1oz and is 26in long. The doctor was very happy with his weight gain. He's in the 75th percentile for weight and height. He was perfectly healthy! We got the OK to start food anytime between now and June. We'll start with rice cereal then go from there (veggies and fruit). Stay tuned for pictures!

Mason has found his voice! He just talks and talks. He gets it honest though. Andy and I are both big talkers :) He has also started to pacify himself with his two fingers. I think he's gonna be a finger sucker...no paci no thumb...its middle and ring finger for him!

Mason got his first boo boo this week. Nancy (mom in law) was being a wonderful help and doing a load of laundry when she accidentally bumped his head on the door frame. He had a tiny goose egg (which had gone away by the time I got home or I would have taken a picture) and cried for a second then was fine. Nancy on the other hand was more upset that Mason. I would have been upset to though! Just another first to add to his baby book! :)

Mason's First Easter

We went to see the Easter Bunny earlier in the week. Mason liked him!! It took awhile to get him to smile but this was our end result...

Friday night was his first time at church. The nursery at Cathedral is awesome and he was good as gold!

Seriously?!! Seriously. Now that we have the acid reflux under control he has decided to start teething. He's a drooling machine and naws his hands all day long. I can already start to see some of the bottom tooth. That one doesnt seem to bother him too much though. The back ones seem to bother him. That's where he chews at least. We can't give him Orajel yet b/c he is too young. Apparently it can numb his gag reflex and he can choke. So we can only give him Tylenol and Im cautious about that and not giving it to him all the time.

My Birthday

Saturday was my 28th birthday. This year I do feel older! Probably b/c I havent slept through the night in like 9 months. HAHAHA! Mason got me a cute baby shoe charm to wear around my neck. Mom and Dad paid for me to get a new hair do. She highlighted it (but it didnt stay due to my hormones still out of wack) then she trimed it and straightened it (that took like 30 min!) We went to dinner that night with my mom and dad, Nana, and Andy's mom and dad. It was YUMMY! Mason is not a night person apparently. He always gets fussy around 6pm and stays fussy on and off til he goes to bed about 8:30pm. Well he had such a good day I thought he would do ok. He did OK. We got there and he was all smiles. Then he started to get hungry so I had to leave and go to the car and feed him. By the time I got back everyone had already eaten.
